I get the feeling that shiptease at the end of Korra 9 was fan-pandering. Really do. On the upside, Bolin was funny as always, and is still my favourite character for the series thus far. Still do not like Mako.
Heard a few moments of… improvement in Korra’s voice; when she was screaming whilst locked in Tarrlok’s box, her voice matched up better with her character. Even though it dropped back to the realm of distate a few minutes later.
That aside, Amon gets several badass points, and a humour point to boot for his “I told you not to underestimate her” comment. Antitheses always score high.
Disappointed that Tarrlok’s effectively finished as a villain. He had some substance, even for someone with such a broken power as unlimited bloodbending. Then again, he did look a little like Aizen, so a stifling like this was to be expected.
Action-wise, it was a good episode, but really, the only good thing to come out of it was Amon’s resurgence in the badass rankings.
As for everyone else, try to keep a lid on your “feels”. No one cares.
Really only a couple of credible theories have been put forward as to Amon’s nature/identity, and we’ll have to wait until the season finale on the 23rd, or possibly the bridging episode before that for any confirmation.
But even before that, the cyborg theory got shot down even before it surfaced, for one critical reason: Amon resists bloodbending. He’s not immune to it.
